EDM Wirecut Operator

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate wire-cut EDM machines for tool and mould production.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD & T, and specifications to execute accurate cuts.
• Determine spark gap, feed rate, and orbit patterns for optimal performance.
• Select and maintain appropriate electrodes, wires, and dielectric fluids.
• Monitor EDM operations for precision, surface finish, and adherence to tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of EDM machines to ensure smooth operation.
• Identify and report any machine malfunctions or quality deviations.
• Maintain production records and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

Required Skills:

• Attention to detail and precision in high-tolerance machining.
• Familiarity with tool room practices and safety standards.
• Basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills.

Required Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of EDM sparking techniques and parameters (spark gap, orbit pattern, pulse settings).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tooling specifications.
