CAM Programmer (HyperMill)


  • Develop CNC programs for Vertical Machining Centres (VMCs) and other CNC machines based on engineering drawings, job requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Set up and operate VMCs and CNC machines to produce high-precision components in compliance with established procedures..
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for each specific job.
  • Conduct machine setups, including tooling, workpiece loading, and machine calibration, to ensure readiness for production.
  • Continuously optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize scrap material.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks on machines and equipment to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimize production delays and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve any design, machining, or manufacturing issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of machining processes, tooling, job setups, and machine performance for traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stay updated on the latest CNC machining technologies, tools, and techniques through training and professional development to enhance skills and efficiency.


  • Demonstrated experience as a CNC programmer, with expertise in programming and operating Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) and other CNC machines.
  • Advanced proficiency in HYPERMILL (preferred) for CNC programming.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, cutting parameters, and optimizing processes for both efficiency and part quality.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) symbols to ensure accuracy in machining operations.
  • Hands-on experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining operations, and familiarity with setup, programming, and operation of each.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail, ensuring that parts are produced to high standards and within tolerance specifications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or similar high-precision industries is a plus, with the ability to adapt programming to industry-specific requirements.
